Crystal Palace delivered a dominant performance to secure a 2-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Oliver Glasner’s side controlled the game from start to finish, scoring in both halves and missing chances to extend their lead further.
Palace Take Control with Goals in Each Half
Palace started brightly, with Eberechi Eze going close early on. The visitors then took the lead in the 37th minute when:
- Joachim Andersen headed the ball into his own net, giving Palace the advantage against his former club.
Shortly after halftime, Jean-Philippe Mateta thought he had doubled Palace’s lead, but his goal was ruled out for offside following a VAR review.
However, Palace did get their second goal in the 66th minute when:
- Daniel Muñoz smashed home a powerful finish, finishing off a brilliant counter-attack led by Mateta.
Fulham failed to create any real attacking threat, and Palace comfortably saw out the match to claim their fourth consecutive Premier League away win.
With this result:
- Fulham drop to ninth place, losing ground in the race for European qualification.
- Palace move up to 13th, now 16 points clear of the relegation zone.
Data Debrief: Ineffective Fulham Punished
What was expected to be a closely contested match turned into a one-sided affair, as Palace made history with their fourth consecutive away league win—a first for the club.
- Both teams had 10 shots each, but Palace created an xG of 1.22, while Fulham only managed 0.23.
- Fulham failed to register a single shot on target at home in a Premier League match for the first time since May 2021.
- Only Sasa Lukic created more than one chance for Fulham, while Alex Iwobi, usually a key playmaker, had just 39 touches in the entire game.
After winning back-to-back matches, Marco Silva’s side loses ground in the battle for European places, while Palace continue their impressive away form.
